Challenge & Saber Solution

A RMIS software vendor had been stuck in “implementation” for 22 months when SABER was engaged. With the Risk Manager & Treasurer, SABER developed a strategic plan to address risk data, performance analysis & communications. Within three weeks, the Treasurer utilized the results of SABER’s analysis as the foundation of her presentation to the Board of Directors.


Ongoing SABER services include:

  • monthly generation & distribution of custom casualty performance reports from consolidated claim & exposure data
  • design & management of electronic first report forms that include drop-down selections for locations & accident info plus required fields & automated email functions
  • each Monday, SABER produces a report of new incidents/claims. Before SABER, Mondays for this risk dept. started with a sprint to get the report to Sr. Management
  • and, custom monthly reports are provided to safety consultants


In its outsourced role, SABER’s maintains location data & generates analysis & reports for premium allocations & other risk department tasks.


SABER Online enhancements that are being considered now are:

  • improving the first report process by replacing the emailed PDF forms with a web hosted database that includes interview style questions & the automated completion of appropriate form(s) & notices depending on the type & severity of the incident
  • and, also being considered, is adding to the same hosted database, the ability for each location to respond to monthly location surveys that encompass Safety, Risk, Maintenance & Environmental.


SABER enjoys a great relationship with this risk management team. And, we look forward to continuing to deliver enhancements and being a part of their success. Having all incidents, claims & surveys in one central system will enable both increased efficiency & the continued refinement of specific loss control efforts for this client’s 100+ locations.
